Training Description
Dr. Albert Ellis developed Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) as a response to traditional psychoanalysis. He proposed that how we think about an issue, situation or stressor determines behavior, not the situation. The REBT model helps clients learn to analyze their responses to a situation, dispute irrational beliefs, and develop new thoughts to more effectively manage the situation.
Participants will learn the principles of REBT, and how to apply these principles – not only when working with clients with sexual behavior problems, but with other client populations as well. By learning to effectively apply REBT principles, clinicians can approach clients more holistically and teach them skills that can be applied in all aspects of their lives.
