Training Description
Video gaming systems have developed into entertainment centers which are at once enjoyable, versatile, and useful. However, they often also provide sexual offenders with unmonitored access to both victims and materials which may increase the likelihood of recidivism. In this presentation, attendees will learn about the capabilities of contemporary video gaming systems and will discuss the various ways these devices may be used inappropriately. Attendees will also gain an understanding of how the use of these devices should be managed, including how to determine which offenders should have access and how these devices should be monitored. Finally, attendees will learn how these devices can be used to enhance treatment and supervision goals.
