Training Description
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) recognizes the unique needs of sex offenders who identify as transgender and are diagnosed with gender dysphoria. For those who have lived for long periods of time in all-male institutions, cohesive gender identity development is particularly challenging. This 1.5 hour webinar will present an overview of transgenderism and the SRSTC Gender Dysphoria Policy, assessment process, and treatment program. Cross-gender hormone treatment provided to Sand Ridge patients will also be discussed. The presentation will incorporate gender diversity education and how to sensitively interact with transgender patients.
