Author Biographies
Robert J. McGrath, PhD, is Clinical Director of the Vermont Department of Corrections’ statewide network of prison and community sex offender treatment programs and is a consultant to the Vermont Department of Developmental Disabilities on sexual abuser issues. Bob has been an active clinician, researcher, and administrator in the field for 30 years. He is the co-author of the books Supervision of the Sex Offender and Current Practices and Emerging Trends in Sexual Abuser Management and is a co-developer of the Vermont Assessment of Sex Offender Risk – 2 (VASOR-2) and the Sex Offender Treatment Intervention and Progress Scale (SOTIPS). He serves or has served on the treatment advisory boards of several sexual violent predator civil commitment programs in the United States and for the national sex offender treatment programs of Canada, England, and Hong Kong. He is co-chair of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers' Practice Standards Committee.
Georgia F. Cumming was the Program Director of the Vermont Department of Corrections’ Vermont Treatment Program for Sexual Abusers, an integrated network of prison and community based programs, until her retirement in May 2012. She was formerly a probation and parole officer in Vermont and has worked in the field of sexual offender management for more than 30 years. She has presented workshops extensively throughout the United States and Canada and has co-authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on the community supervision of sexual offenders. Georgia is the co-author of Current Practices and Emerging Trends in Sexual Abuser Management and Supervision of the Sex Offender, a practical guide to working with sexual offenders for probation and parole officers. She is also is a co-developer of the Sex Offender Treatment Intervention and Progress Scale (SOTIPS). She is a member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and the Safer Society Foundation Board of Directors.
