Training Description
The purpose of this 2-hour training is to examine how professionals can motivate adolescents who have sexually abused to engage in assessment and treatment. Specifically, the trainer will explore principles of risk, need, and responsivity as applied to youth, explore interactive effects of abuse-related interests, self-management, peer groups, attitudes and beliefs, and interpersonal competence, discuss available measures such as the DASH-13 and PFS, and discuss the potential clinical utility of the TPI-ASA and TNPS scales.
Trainer Biography
David Prescott, LICSW is Director of Professional Development and Quality Improvement for the Becket Family of Services in New England. ATSA Past President, Mr. Prescott has over 30 years of experience in assessing, managing, and monitoring both the perpetrators and victims of sexual abuse. He is the author of over 10 books and 50 articles and book chapters.
