Training Description
This two-hour training is designed to provide attendees with an overview of the fastest growing segment of the sex offender population – Internet sex offenders. Using the epidemiological and risk assessment literature as a guide, the prevalence of Internet-assisted sexual offending is discussed, facts and myths concerning child pornography are distinguished, differences between noncontact and contact typologies of Internet sex offenders are identified, and case studies are used to examine effective methods of assessing the recidivism risk of clients with these index offenses.
Trainer Biography
Suzonne M. Kline, PsyD is the former Administrator of Florida’s Sexually Violent Predator Program and a nationally-recognized speaker on issues related to sex offenders. Dr. Kline is currently in independent forensic practice and offers specialized expertise in psychosexual evaluation and risk assessment of Internet sex offenders. Additionally, she offers expert consultation to state and national organizations regarding effective, empirically-based sex offender risk management practices.
Eric A. Imhof, PsyD is President of the Florida Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (FATSA). Dr. Imhof has practiced for over 30 years in the field of sex offender management and has performed thousands of sex offender evaluations and risk assessments on behalf of government agencies, prosecutors and private clients. Former Program Director at the Elaine Gordon Treatment Center and Director of Assessment, Research, and Outcomes for the Brown Schools of Florida, he recently served as Chair of the Department of Juvenile Justice Sex Offender Workgroup.
