Training Description
The Good Lives Model of Offender Rehabilitation is increasingly used internationally as an approach to treatment with sexual offenders. The goal of this 2-hour training is to provide participants with an understanding of the basic constructs underlying the Good Lives Model of offender rehabilitation. Specifically, the background common life goals, and flaws associated with offending will be discussed in context of the Good Lives Model, and an overview of key RNR, CBT, and SRM principles will be provided.
Trainer Biography
Pamela Yates, PhD is the President of Cabot Consulting and Research Services. Dr. Yates has worked extensively with sexual offenders in correctional and forensic settings as a clinician, researcher, and program developer. Her research on the Good Lives Model of sexual offender intervention has resulted in the publication of books including “Applying the Good Lives Model and Self-Regulation Models to Sex offender Treatment: A Practical Guide for Clinicians” and “Building a Better Life: A Good Lives and Self-Regulation Workbook”.
This training is designed to help you:
  • Introduce participants to basic constructs of Good Lives Model (GLM)
  • Situate Good Lives Model (GLM) in models of sex offender treatment
