Ethical functioning of organizations relies on ethical leadership as well as the ethical behavior of employees. Ethical leadership is “the demonstration of normatively appropriate conduct through personal actions and interpersonal relationships, and the promotion of such conduct to followers through two-way communication, reinforcement, and decision-making” (Brown, Treviño & Harrison, 2005, p. 120). Ethical leadership contributes to ethical ambiance leading employees to uphold ethical decisions. This webinar details psychological theories and research in explaining the process of making ethical and unethical decisions within organizations, the outcome of such decisions, and reviews strategies at individual and systemic levels to engender an ethical climate in the workplace.
Presenter Biography
Lakshmi (Luck) Subramanian, PhD, is the Director of Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center – Evaluation Unit (SRSTC-EU). The SRSTC-EU is responsible for completing Wisconsin’s Sexually Violent Person Examination. She is passionate about ethical behavior and leadership within the organization and time perspective within the forensic arena.
