Training Description
Dynamic sexual recidivism risk assessments are increasingly required in behavioral health, correctional, and court settings. The Structured Risk Assessment-Forensic Version (SRA-FV) is a new empirically-based structured risk assessment tool that assesses psychological risk factors associated with increased rates of recidivism. Research supports the use of the SRA-FV in forensic evaluations and treatment planning with sexual offenders (e.g., civil commitment evaluations, parole decisions, treatment reports). In addition, administering the SRA-FV along with the Static-99R and the Risk Matrix 2000 has been found to increase the accuracy of predictions made using either instrument alone. Presented by one of only two certified SRA-FV trainers, this On Demand certified workshop will train you in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the SRA-FV while earning 8 hours of valuable Continuing Education Credit.
The development of the SRA-FV will be discussed, item-by-item instructions will be given on how to reliably score the measure and interpret its findings, a summary of the peer-reviewed research on the SRA-FV will be provided, and guidance will be put forth on how to apply SRA-FV reporting conventions. Case studies will be employed to allow you to practice using the tool’s coding manual and to learn to avoid common scoring errors.
