Training Description
The Violence Risk Appraisal Guide-Revised (VRAG-R) is the innovative update to the most commonly-used actuarial violence risk assessment tool in the world. Designed to estimate the likelihood that a male criminal offender or forensic psychiatric patient will commit a new violent or sexual offense, the VRAG-R produces an estimated recidivism rate for different lengths of follow-up. Replication studies have established the VRAG scheme’s ability to accurately predict violent recidivism in a variety of settings as well as in child molesters, rapists, and non-violent offenders. Presented by the only certified trainers on the VRAG-R and offered exclusively through the Global Institute of Forensic Research, this On Demand certified workshop will train you in the use of the VRAG-R while earning 8 hours of valuable Continuing Education Credit.
The development of the VRAG-R will be discussed, item-by-item instructions will be given on how to reliably score the measure and interpret its findings, a review of the peer-reviewed research on the VRAG-R will be provided, and guidance will be put forth on how to apply VRAG-R reporting conventions. Case studies will be employed to allow you to practice using the tool's manual and to learn to avoid common administration errors.
